Race is dedicated to offering consumers transparent and straightforward information about our services, enabling them to make well-informed choices that best suit their needs. In alignment with this objective, we have created this dedicated page as a centralized resource where consumers and others can access and review the pertinent policies, agreements, and additional details about our Race broadband Internet access services.

Additionally, the Federal Communications Commission ("FCC") mandates that Race and other broadband Internet access service providers disclose specific information about their Internet services. The details required for disclosure under FCC regulations are provided below, as well as in the various policies and documents listed and linked on this page. To aid you in locating the information you need, we specifically highlight below the aspects that the FCC emphasizes in the Open Internet Disclosures.

Network Management Policies

  • Blocking
Race does not block or otherwise prevent end-user access to lawful content, applications, services, or nonharmful devices, including a description of what is blocked.

  • Throttling
Race does not degrade or impair access to lawful Internet traffic based on content, application, service, user, or use of a non-harmful device.

  • Affiliated Prioritization
Race does not directly or indirectly favor some traffic over other traffic, including through use of techniques such as traffic shaping, prioritization, or resource reservation to benefit an affiliate.

  • Paid Prioritization
Race does not directly or indirectly favor some traffic over other traffic, including through use of techniques such as traffic shaping, prioritization, or resource reservation, in exchange for consideration, monetary or otherwise.

  • Congestion Management
Race does not engage in any practice to limit customer usage nor impose penalties for bandwidth consumption for reasonable household use.

  • Application-Specific Behavior
Race offers its broadband Internet access service customers full access to all lawful content, services, and applications available on the Internet. Race does not block or rate-control specific protocols or protocol ports, does not modify protocol fields in ways not prescribed by protocol standards, and does not inhibit or favor certain applications or classes of applications.

  • Device Attachment Rules
Race does not engage in any practice to restrict the types of devices that connect to the network. Any Ethernet-capable device or router that is UL certified and FCC certified is approved for use on our broadband Internet access service. Compatibility with the Race network is not guaranteed for all devices. Customers should consult their device manufacturer for compatibility information. Race reserves the right to prohibit devices from attaching to the network for network management and security reasons.

  • Security
Race does not engage in any practice that could possibly jeopardize network security or customer information. Race employs a variety of industry-standard security practices on the network to ensure customer protection. Race monitors overall network activity to detect potential intrusion and denial of service attack. Additionally, end-users whose systems are compromised, and are sourcing malicious traffic, may be contacted, or suspended until the system is secured. We may block traffic to or from customers when a denial-of-service attack is in progress, and when such traffic is impacting network elements shared by other customers.

Performance Characteristics

  • Service Description
Race provides internet access via Fiber. Actual speeds vary by location and product selected. See our website for details.

  • Other Services on Our Network
Race offers video services utilizing Internet Protocol (IP)-based technologies, in addition to voice services and specific Metro-Ethernet enterprise business services, all delivered over the same physical network that supports Race's broadband Internet access for residential and small to medium business customers. The IP video and voice services, along with the Metro-Ethernet enterprise business services, are not provided via the Internet but are provisioned with dedicated service capacity and are delivered through distinct service flows using Differentiated Service Code Point (DSCP) technology. Importantly, the voice and Metro-Ethernet services—video—are designated for prioritization to ensure critical communications, such as 911 calls, are maintained even during times of network congestion. These measures are strategically implemented to safeguard the integrity and reliability of the Race’s Internet service, which is provided on a best-efforts basis.
