Race has introduced a map to provide 24-7, regularly updated information on service outages and maintenances.

Please note, it may take up to 30 minutes for new outages to appear on the map.

You can access the map from any web browser at https://race.com/status.

The following is a brief introduction to the map interface.

Navigation

On a computer:

To move around the map, click and drag. To zoom in and out, use the + and – buttons (1) or rotate the mouse wheel. To center on your current location, click the crosshairs button at top right (2).

On a phone/tablet:

To move around the map, tap and drag. To zoom in and out, pinch-zoom (put two fingers on the map, then squeeze your fingers together or spread them apart). To center on your current location, click the crosshairs at top right (2).

Search Bar

You can search for cities or street addresses with the search bar (3). (On mobile, first tap on the magnifying glass icon (3) to expand the bar.) For privacy reasons, searching for an address will not indicate whether that address is affected by an event, but will zoom the map to that address’ region so you can review the map for nearby events.

Tab Bar

Additional information and map options are stored inside the tab bar. On a computer, there is a sidebar on the left (4) with tabs at the bottom. On mobile, tabs will be along the bottom of the screen (4).

Tabs: Map (5)

On mobile, this tab takes you back to the map view.

Tabs: Events (6)

This tab shows you a list of all known outages and maintenances (and is shown by default on computer web browsers). You can click on an event to see additional information and display the affected region on the map.

Tabs: Layers (7)

This tab allows you to control the display of various elements on the map. You can turn display of outages and maintenances on and off. There are also three additional options to add detail to the map.

Weather: This overlays current precipitation conditions, which can affect the ability of field technicians to access sites for repair.

Satellite: This adds satellite imagery to the map, to display buildings and geographical features.

Service Area: This shows counties in which Race service is deployed.

Tabs: Legend (8)

This tab contains information about the icons and colors used by other map layers.
