Why do location services show my IP address in a different location?

Some websites use GeoIP databases to determine your location based on your IP address. These databases may not always be up to date, which can cause your IP address to appear as if it’s in a different city or region.

When IP addresses are reassigned to a new area, it takes time for online services like Google, Meta, and X to update their records. Over time, their location services will adjust and reflect a more accurate location based on usage patterns, GPS data, and billing information.

Please note that IP-based location tracking is not always precise and may never be completely accurate.
