You are not required to use the router provided by Race but we highly recommend that you do. When it comes to your router, you want to get what you pay for— especially if you have the "Gigafy Me" package (1000 Mbps). Routers that provide a GIGABIT throughput speed can be pricey, ranging from $200 all the way up to $1,000 depending on the make and model and available features.

Using our carrier-class Wi-Fi router, Race provides technical support and managed WiFi capabilities, something that we cannot offer for other self-purchased devices. 

It is important to note that if you are purchasing Race TV service, you MUST use a Race router.
