For most of our customers enjoying the 1 Gbps service, the crucial device for receiving this service is the 803G ONT (Optical Network Terminal). This compact box provides the gateway for high-speed fiber optic internet to flow into your home.

What are the components of the 803G ONT?

On the back of your 803G ONT, you will find several ports:

  1. Fiber Optic In: This is where the fiber optic cable delivering your internet service connects to the ONT.

  2. Power: Connects your ONT to a power source.

  3. Phone: Used for connecting your home phone.

  4. Ethernet: Used to connect the ONT to your router.

On the side of the 803G ONT, you'll find indicator lights for power, broadband service, ethernet, and phone. These lights should be green in normal operation.

What if the indicator lights are not green?

If you notice any of the indicator lights showing red or orange, it's time to call our support department for assistance. A flashing or flickering ethernet or phone light is a good sign, though - it indicates that your ONT is successfully communicating with the devices it's connected to.

How does the 803G ONT connect to the Gigaspire Router?

Your 803G ONT and Gigaspire router communicate via an ethernet cable. The internet service comes from the ONT and is transmitted through this cable to your router. On the back of your Gigaspire router, you'll see the cable connected to the WAN (Wide Area Network) port.

The router also features four available LAN (Local Area Network) ports, allowing you to connect a variety of devices, such as a personal computer, network switch, cameras, and more.

How to use the phone ports?

The router has two phone ports, but these are not used in our systems. If you wish to use a phone, plug it into the phone port on the ONT.

What is the WPS Key?

The WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) key on your router allows easy connection of devices, like printers, without needing to input a network name or password. Simply press this button to start the protected setup process.
